THIS AMERICAN LIVES

My personal favorite episodes of the best podcast (but good effort, Serial)
  1. Act V
Putting on Hamlet in a prison. I thought about dropping out of school and going to prison to do research on it until I realized that was crazy and I was just being emotional. I still remember the first time I listened to this 10 years later. It hit me hard. It's definitely the best one of all.
  2. I'm In Charge Now
This was the first time I heard David Sedaris tell a story. I knew he was a weirdo from the first few words I heard of his voice but what a fascinating, appealing oddball.
  3. If You Don't Have Anything Nice to Say, SAY IT IN ALL CAPS
This episode about online "trolling" is probably more interesting to me than to other people because I worked on websites where people harass each other for so many years. AND ALSO because I love Lindy West for writing up EXACTLY how I feel about the movie Love Actually (Google it and read it now), and I liked listening to her voice and hearing her story and getting to know more about her.
  4. The Giant Pool of Money
This episode is an attempt to teach you all about what happened with the subprime lending crisis, etc. It reminds me of training for the SF Marathon running along Crissy Field. I feel like I learned something and I wondered about what my life would have been like if I had gotten a job as a quant trader instead of the other kind of programmer.
