WHEN ALTERNATIVE ROCK WENT MAINSTREAM

In 1995, I entered high school and 104.7 The Revolution and 105.9 the X both switched to an alternative rock format. This is what was on the radio that year.
  1. Candlebox - Far Behind
  2. Pearl Jam - Elderly Woman Behind the Counter In A Small Town
Also every other Pearl Jam song but this one the most. It wasn't until a few years ago that I discovered that this actually wasn't a big hit and was only randomly on the radio in Pittsburgh for some reason. Yes I still know all the words. HELLLLOOOO
  3. Spacehog - In the Meantime
  4. Sponge - Molly (16 Candles) & Plowed
  5. Dave Matthews Band - Ants Marching
Yes this counted as alternative for a hot minute
  6. Green Day - All of Dookie
It came out in 1994 and I had obviously already listened to the cassette tape 800,000 times but some of the tracks on it got a lot of air play even into 95, especially When I Come Around.
  7. Goo Goo Dolls - Name
In case DMB wasn't alternative enough for you
  8. Better than Ezra - Good
    Yeah that's right!
  9. Alanis Morissette - That entire album, literally
Has there ever been a bigger one album wonder? F*ck you Dave Coulier.
  10. Red Hot Chili Peppers - My Friends
  11. PUSA - Lump, and later Peaches
  12. Oasis - Wonderwall
This was my favorite song for a long time.
