EVOLUTION OF THE TATTOO I DIDN'T END UP GETTING

I don't have any tattoos but I really want one. Last Summer (2015) I started the process after doing over a month of research on shops/artists.
  1. I didn't have any images in mind, just a fairly abstract, vague idea: I wanted it to include the fear of Dark Water.
  2. But I wanted it to be empowering. So the key was embracing that fear, which is really a fear of the unknown.
  3. So I talked to a very talented artist, Betty Avila at Twisted Tattoos, and she drew up these drafts over a couple months.
  4. In the end, I thought the art was incredible but I wasn't 100% convinced I should get a piece this big for a first tat.
