When Did Playing Things On Your Phone in Public Without Headphones Become Acceptable Behavior?

  1. I am currently stranded in the waiting room of a Subaru dealership while their mechanics work on my husband's car
Side note: we have a Subaru Outback that we named Donna because we yell at her much like Josh Lyman yelled at Donna on "The West Wing" and we love her 🤓
  2. Anyway, the waiting room is actually quite lovely. Snacks on snacks on snacks, free Wifi, comfy chairs, lots of outlets for charging devices, separate playroom with toys for children
  3. But THESE GUYS!
  4. I have two men sitting to my left. One is clearly Grandpa-esque (white hair, glasses, slightly adorable)
  5. The other is a bearded bro, I'm guessing mid-40's
  6. Then there is a guy to my right at one of the work cubicles (this waiting room is so nice!) rocking the plaid (a man after my own heart), probably in his late 30's
  7. What do all of these men have in common besides being here?
  8. THEY ALL HAVE THE SOUND TURNED ON ON THEIR PHONES
  9. I can hear every "button" tap
  10. Every sound from the videos they're playing
  11. Every text they receive
  12. Every voicemail left by their proctologist asking them to call back for their test results
YES, HE PLAYED THAT VOICEMAIL ON SPEAKERPHONE
  13. When did this become a thing? Why don't people use headphones? Or at least go to a separate area to play voicemails? Or turn off the obnoxious sounds on their phone?!?
  14. Do people actually like to hear each "button" click? Can't you just confirm that you tapped the right thing by looking at your damn screen?!
  15. What is wrong with people?!?!
  16. Le ugh
