My 50 Favorite Movies Of All Time, UNRANKED

Good lord, I could never rank them I think. Music nerd-dom absorbs all my ranking energy. 😂 Inspired by @karlalucia. (I'm also so afraid the app is going to crash that I'm going to update it ten at a time until I hit 50.) DAMMIT. It just crashed on me with 9 loaded. 😭
  1. PULP FICTION
One of the few movies I saw multiple times in the theater.
  2. CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON
I love martial arts movies and this one has everything: great action, romance, tragedy, beautiful cinematography, etc. Also saw this multiple times on the big screen.
  3. IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE
How do you feel about astonishingly gorgeous filmmaking and a story that will rip your heart out?
  4. YOJIMBO
Toshiro Mifune is the greatest and I will listen to nothing to the contrary.
  5. ANDREI RUBLEV
Got 3.5 hours for a glacially paced Russian drama that was suppressed by the Soviet regime?
  6. VERTICAL RAY OF THE SUN
One of the most perfectly shot films I've ever seen. Every still could be a photograph.
  7. O BROTHER, WHERE ART THOU?
The film that made me realize Clooney could be so much more than a smarmy doctor.
  8. KILL BILL
Tarantino doing a martial arts film? Saw this a bazillion times in the theater.
  9. STOP MAKING SENSE
The best concert documentary ever made. This is not up for debate.
  10. THREE TIMES
A great (and beautifully shot) time-hopping "what if" piece of storytelling.
  11. I ❤️ Huckabees
I understand why someone would hate this, but I love it. Incredible ensemble cast, existential detectives, etc.
  12. DOGTOOTH
This was directed by the same guy that made The Lobster if that gives you any idea what you're getting into.
  13. THE DARJEELING LIMITED
The most unfairly maligned film Wes Anderson has made IMO.
  14. HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS
  15. CITY OF GOD
Need to buy this again. Lost this years ago in a breakup. Tried to get it back, but no luck. 😂
  16. LOCK, STOCK & TWO SMOKING BARRELS
    Love a good crime movie.
  17. THE BIG LEBOWSKI
Go see this in the theater every year.
  18. TRAINSPOTTING
Will never understand how people thought this movie glamorized drug use.
  19. LA HAINE
  20. THE BATTLE OF ALGIERS
  21. DR. STRANGELOVE
