HOW TO AVOID BEING ATTACKED BY A BEAR WHILE HIKING
- •Travel in large groups of three or more.
- •Make lots of noise to scare them away. Lots of people sing songs or play music!
- •Wear big, ostentatious headwear to make yourself seem bigger than you are. Many hikers choose these festive caps.
- •Always have a leader at the front who is waving a big stick around to scare off the bear.
- •Hike in rhythm so you don't get separated.
- •Bring at least one tuba--Bears HATE tubas.
