Peeling is a sign of lack of balance - either too dry (over exfoliating is a big culprit - especially mixing potent ingredients) but it can also be caused by an overproduction of oil. Here's what to do:
  1. Hit the reset button
That means you are on a product freeze. Nothing but cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen. Pick a gentle, fragrance free cleanser/moisturizer (like cetaphil) and a barrier sunscreen (not chemical) For the peeling you can dab on a little Vaseline at night before bed.
  2. Do this for a week, let your skin reset it's natural balance
If you want to slowly reintroduce your products one at a time - remember exfoliants should not be layered! DO NOT layer acids (lactic, salicylcic, glycolic) benzoyl peroxide or Retin A. Pick one for morning and one at night, BUT after your reset only add one for a week and then add a second.
  3. Drink lots of water
    Always, for everything
  4. If this doesn't help see a doctor
Peeling is not natural, it needs to be addressed and fixed.
