My Personal Fave Music Movie Moments

Not necessarily iconic, I just love them. This list will grow & does not include musicals, which feels like its own list entirely
  1. A Quick One While He's Away - The Who (Rushmore)
Kicks off with that stellar hard Townsend guitar solo as a glorious revenge montage occurs to Daltry screeching "you are forgiven" repeatedly
  2. Ceremony - New Order (Marie Antoinette)
Plays during glorious birthday sunrise romp with champagne on grounds of Versailles
  3. Don't Stop Me Now - Queen (Shaun of the Dead)
Jukebox busts, they thwomp zombie barkeep with pool cues in time to tune
  4. Supermodel - Jill Sobule (Clueless)
Perfect makeover montage song selection. The right balance of 90s rock with peppy, girly edge. And I always love Tai flipping her soaking wet hair onto her friends & giggling
  5. Banana Boat Song (Day-o) - Harry Belefonte (Beetlejuice)
I have no idea what compelled Tim Burton to soundtrack this movie solely with Belefonte songs, but it's just incongruous enough to be completely hilarious. Catherine O'Hara utterly sells her bewilderment when she kicks off this possessed lip sync dance storm
  6. Hold Tight - Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick, and Tich (Deathproof)
A truly perfect Tarantino-selected soundtrack. This song wins because a) Sidney Poitier's character gives a wonderful radio DJ mini-lecture on the brilliance of the song, then b) all the girls have a raucous & fun moment rocking out before all hell breaks loose
