I love movies of all decades! It drives me crazy when people don't appreciate what came before their generation. Check out these gems from the 70's!
  1. "The Towering Inferno"
An all-star cast led by Paul Newman and Steve McQueen. (Rumor has it that the two superstars both wanted top-bilking so the compromise was to alternate who hit the top on different movie posters). The best of the genre in my opinion. The 70s fashion and decor are entertaining on their own but there's good drama and excitement. To top it off, O.J Simpson has a role! Boy, talk about "back in the day..."
  2. "The Poseidon Adventure"
This is the original film starring stars of that era such as Gene Hackman, Shelly Winters, and Ernest Borgnine. It's one of those movies that stick with you if you saw it in the theatre - anybody from that generation who goes on a cruise thinks about this movie! Who is going to survive???
  3. "Airport"
This one ended up spawning a series of sequels but I love this first one with George Kennedy, Burt Lancaster, and Dean Martin. So many subplots! The days before special effects...Enjoy it for what it is!
  4. "Earthquake"
Hands-down this is the cheesiest of these 4 but worth watching for Charlton Heston. Fun fact: when it was shown on the big screen, some theaters were rigged so the seats shook when the earthquake hits!
