What I read, watched and listened to in June

  1. How to Become a Grown-Up in 468 Easy(ish) Steps by Kelly Williams Brown
I essentially earmarked the entire cooking section. Clearly written by a Southern belle but still applicable for this New York JAP
  2. The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt
HOW HAVE YOU NOT READ THIS YET?! Nearly 900 words and it took me about a week to blow through. Highly recommend
  3. NPR's Pop Culture Happy Hour podcast
Some good ones include: O.J. Made in America, 2016 Tony Awards, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping and Making Music Funny
  4. O.J. Made in America
Five-part documentary on ESPN that made me feel so many conflicting feelings
  5. Orange Is The New Black
Avoid all social media until you get through e12
  6. Gilmore Girls
Still on season 5 but getting there...
  7. Not That Kind of Girl by Lena Dunham
Some of it is reminiscent of s2 of GIRLS while other chapters read more like s5
  8. James Bay
Go download Chaos and the Calm rn
  9. This Is How You Lose Her by Junot Diaz
Liked but didn't love. I did chuckle to myself on the subway frequently, though
  10. The Knockoff by Lucy Sykes and Jo Piazza
Thinly veiled account of the magazine industry with two-dimensional characters, but I could not put it down. Would recommend for the beach or to keep your mind away from the news for a few hours
  11. HBO programming
Veep, Silicon Valley, Last Week Tonight
  12. The Mindy Project
I go from in love to Newsroom-level hate, depending on if Chris Messina is in the episode
  13. The news
