1. Author: The JT LeRoy Story
This has always been an endlessly fascinating story to me for so many reasons, and now documentary adds even more layers. Very well made and absorbing. I have to admit, I enjoyed watching celebs buy into it because for most of them, you could smell the self-involvement, rather than activism. It's one of the greatest industry hoaxes and it's as punk as authorship can get. It's interesting to see who stuck around supported Laura Albert when it's all said and done.
  2. The Weeknd - Starboy
At 18 tracks, it's a little long and like his last album, there's a clear divide between tracks made for the radio and his more trademark sex/drugs anthems. That said, it mostly works since he continues to evolve musically (a lot of Daft Punk collabs on here). Now he just needs to evolve more lyrically and he can continue his quest for greatness.
  3. This insane article about a phenomenon called The My Way Killings: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Way_killings
Holyfuckingshit, this almost reads like an Onion article. I cannot believe it's real.
