With every presidential candidate that has bid their hopes of the Oval Office adieu we have seen the news "X suspends presidential campaign"
  1. There are three parts to Merriam-Webster's simple definition of suspend
    - to force to leave a job, position, or place for a usually short period of time as a form of punishment. - to stop for a usually short period of time. -to make happen later, to delay
  2. Now the definition does say a usually short period of time.
    Maybe this is the exception?
  3. Can The AP help me out on this?!
Seriously I want to know why do they say suspend instead of END.
  4. Some other choices instead of suspend
    - throw in the towel - call it quits - FACED REALITY!
