I transitioned into production from advertising late last year and have realized that these truths are always self-evident on set.
  1. Monitors will go down.
    No matter if it's a $100,000 shoot or $100,000,000 shoot... technology fails. Always.
  2. Sound isn't satisfied.
    Background noise is the sound mixer & boom op's biggest nightmare. You could be in a private studio on a deserted island and they would complain about the waves crashing at some point.
  3. Hanger is universal.
    Bad catering or crafty? Now everyone on set has something to talk about.
