Yesterday, I made a list of predictions for the first Nintendo Direct broadcast after Satoru Iwata's passing. Here's what I got right, wrong, or didn't see coming! Share your most anticipated game in the comments below, and thanks for reading!
  1. RIGHT - Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD
    1. How do you cover this up after it leaked? 2. Thank god this is real because, contrary to popular belief, Twilight Princess is my favorite in The Legend of Zelda series. Visually beautiful and a compelling story, I can't wait to see how this looks, along with the soundtrack and Wolf Link Amiibo 👏🏻
  2. RIGHT - Super Smash Bros. DLC
Yes, there will be more characters BUT I did not expect Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII! There will be another Super Smash Bros. Direct in December, which begs the question - "What are the chances of Final Fantasy VII coming to the Wii U?"
  3. SURPRISE - Everything Pokemon. Literally everything.
Where do I begin with this one... Pokken Tournament will release in the spring, and it looks incredible! It's honestly the way I've always wanted to play Pokemon - fighting style where you play as your favorite Pokemon in the arena. ON FEBRUARY 27, YOU CAN OWN RED, BLUE, AND YELLOW ON YOUR 3DS!! Only thing that will change is the way you trade Pokemon, so it's virtually the same game. NOSTALGIA ✨
  4. RIGHT - Star Fox Zero
Most of us forgot about Star Fox Zero after Nintendo announced they delayed production. The game has resurfaced, and the Star Fox looks better than ever. Release date confirmed for April 22, 2016.
  5. WRONG - Xenoblade Chronicles X
I meant to add this prediction in my previous list, but overall, I wasn't expecting the game to release until next summer at least. This game is huge. I mean really huge. X will release for the Wii U on December 4 in time for the holidays, but those who buy the physical copy won't have the entire game (yeah, the RPG is THAT big). Nintendo is very understanding and released 4 download packs for FREE so fans have the opportunity to play the whole game. Awesome job, Nintendo 👏🏻
  6. WRONG - Splatoon Update
I was only expecting a new map or two, so this massive FREE update blew my mind: 40 new pieces of gear along with the new Museum d'Alfonsino stage. Updates will be announced through January, 2016.
  7. WRONG - Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam
The latest installment in the Mario & Luigi series is coming to North America the same time as Japan and Europe. Releasing for the 3DS on January 22, 2016, the new crossover will also use compatible amiibos.
  8. RIGHT - Fire Emblem Fates
I'm way too excited to type this up. Fates, the newest installment in the Fire Emblem series, will be available on February 19, 2016. Like X, this game is so big that the adventure will be split into two games: Birthright and Conquest. There will also be a third story, Revelation, available through DLC. Lastly, the Deluxe edition will come with all three stories, an art book, and 3DS pouch... Which I already preordered 😘💖✨
  9. SURPRISE - Mega Man Legacy Collection
The first six Mega Man games along with various bonus challenges will be available for 3DS on February 23, 2016. The game will be Amiibo compatible, and a lucky bunch will receive a rare golden Mega Man in the Collector's Edition ✨
