Paris, the Weekend Before

I was in Paris the weekend before last and I had a completely different list drafted. After the terror attacks of last Friday ... I guess I just wanted to put something out there. 🇫🇷
  1. The love lock bridge is magical at night in the rain
  2. This church and the beautiful stained glass windows
  3. Saw an old couple dancing on ile saint louis next to the bridge and just enjoyed the view.
  4. I walked around by myself at night and didn't feel unsafe once
  5. Christmas displays
  6. The people
  7. The food
  8. The icons
  9. It scares me that people can just walk in and take all that away
  10. My friend was visiting Paris then and he was in a bar with friends when the news broke. They were barricaded in with worried texts and bits and pieces of news trickling in until 3am.
  11. He'd previously tried to get me to change my plans so we'd be in Paris together
  12. It angers me that there was a purpose behind taking 129+ innocent lives
  13. That each life, each number, was someone who won't be going home
  14. That this could happen anywhere and has been happening elsewhere and we haven't/won't do enough
  15. Paris attacks: What we know and don't know
  16. There's 3 different shootings in Paris right now
  17. Things the media won't tell you about what's happening in Beirut
  18. The refugee crisis: 9 questions you were too embarrassed to ask
  19. Waleed Aly (Australian tv host) has some good points
"They want countries like ours to reject their Muslims and vilify them." "...because this evil organisation has it in their heads that if they can make Muslims the enemy of the West, then Muslims in France and England and America and here in Australia will have nowhere to turn but to ISIL." "That was exactly their strategy in Iraq. And now they want it to go global."
  20. I'm so sorry, I don't know what to say, I couldn't possibly understand, I'm praying for you.
