Times I Cried Watching the 2016 Tony Awards

I told @finny_in_space we could make a drinking game out of how many times I cried but she said it would probably kill us.
  1. 1.
    During James Corden's opening remarks.
30 seconds in and I was already sobbing. Off to a great start.
  2. 2.
    During James Corden's opening number
I love when they do shout outs to the theater kids dreaming about Broadway— something you would never see at the Oscars or Grammys
  3. 3.
When Renée Elise Goldsberry won her Tony
Her acceptance speech was so heartfelt and beautiful. I'm so proud of her.
  4. 4.
When Daveed Diggs won his Tony.
    I'm just so proud.
  5. 5.
When they were doing little Ham4Ham type shows outside the theater.
Ham4Ham shows were started at the Richard Roger's theater for fans who couldn't see the show for whatever reason. They did mini Ham4Hams at the Tony's outside the Beacon theater. Before they performed on stage, each cast came out and sang a Broadway classic for fans.
  6. 6.
Lin's acceptance speech for best composer.
Apparently he thinks he's "too old to freestyle." (Which is a LIE but fine) so he just graced us with a gorgeous SONNET instead. Check it out https://youtu.be/pAG_7qeiOZA
  7. 7.
The cast of the Color Purple's performance
Oh my gosh this was incredible. https://youtu.be/puR2RXOGIi8
  8. 8.
When Leslie Odom Jr. won his Tony.
This was so deserved. He's amazing.
  9. 9.
    Frank Langella's acceptance speech.
"When something bad happens we have three choices. We can let it define us, destroy us, or strengthen us."
  10. 10.
    When Hamilton performed.
    I live for this choreography.
  11. 11.
When Jessie Mueller blessed us with her voice.
And performed "She Used to Be Mine" from Waitress and it was stunning.
  12. 12.
When Cynthia Erivo won her Tony.
    Also seriously deserved.
  13. 13.
    When Oprah cheered Cynthia on.
    It was so sweet.
  14. 14.
Anytime the camera was on Lin's face.
He just looked so proud and emotional the whole time. SAME LIN. same.
  15. 15.
    When Hamilton won best musical.
WE WON WE WON WE WON WE WON
  16. 16.
I just love theater so much. I really believe that this art is important and beautiful and relevant.
And it can/is changing the world.
  17. 17.
Not to mention the crazy supportive and loving community.
It restores my faith in humanity.
  18. 18.
  19. 19.
  20. 20.
    I'm a wreck ✌️
