On twitter a few days ago, I gave a rough top 10 of my favorites of this year, but here is a well-thought out Top 25 + the best tracks from each album from the best year in music in YEARS - not necessarily in order. 2016 was TOUGH, but the soundtrack was worth it.
  1. 1.
    Ology - Gallant
I've never been more impressed and obsessed by an artist in such a small amount of time. This is Gallant's debut album and it blew MY MIND. | Favorite track: Bone + Tissue
  2. 2.
Coloring Book - Chance the Rapper
2016 was the year of Chance the Rapper, obviously. He's America's new sweetheart, the greatest artist of the year, a future Grammy award winner, father, faith driven guy. I love him more than words. This album changed my life. | Favorite track: Finish Line/Drown
  3. 3.
    Blonde - Frank Ocean
You know how annoying everyone was about wanting a new frank album for like two years? I was the captain of that ship. I didn't think I could wait any longer. At first, I wasn't sold, but now I can't imagine life without this album. Favorite track: (it's a tie!!) Godspeed/Self Control
  4. 4.
    WALLS - Kings of Leon
Oh man, oh man. One of my favorite bands! Great album. So different but sooooo them. I love this sound. | Favorite track: Conversation Piece
  5. 5.
    Georgica Pond - Johnnyswim
This duo is magic. They're married and so in love. They turned their love into music - that's what it sounds like. It's beautiful. They are two of my favorite voices on this planet. | Favorite track: Touching Heaven
  6. 6.
Darkness + Light - John Legend
John is one of those artists that when they put out music, I become insanely obsessed with them and that music for like a solid three weeks. I love John Legend's voice so much. Classic. | Favorite track: Right By You (For Luna)
  7. 7.
    Cleopatra - The Lumineers
I realized a lot of things this year that were life-changing, but my realization of how much I like The Lumineers was one of my more prominent ones. This album is prime. | Favorite track: (a tie!!!) Angela/Sleep on the Floor
  8. 8.
    ANTI - Rihanna
This album got lost in the mix, but I think it deserves every Grammy it's nominated for. It's an instant classic. | Favorite track: Love on the Brain
  9. 9.
Home of the Strange - Young the Giant
This was one of my favorite bands in high school!! Guys!! Remember when Cough Syrup was everyone's favorite song/ringtone? Very collective sound with a point. | Favorite track: Elsewhere
  10. 10.
I like when you sleep for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it - The 1975
Honestly, who cares that it's like "not cool" to like The 1975 anymore because this album defined my early 2016 and I think I listened to it more than any other album this year. | Favorite track: If I Believe You
  11. 11.
The Life of Pablo - Kanye West

  13. 13.
    24k Magic - Bruno Mars
FUCK ME UP!! That's how I feel about Bruno Mars like 98% of the time because he's so smooth and chill and his music makes you wanna dance. He's a life changer. I also become obsessed with him whenever he does anything. | Favorite track: Perm (the best BOP)/Versace on the Floor (best over all)
  14. 14.
    VIEWS - Drake
