1. Just like so many of you, I was shocked and horrified when I opened li.st yesterday and learned that she had passed away.
  2. I didn't know her personally- the sum of our involvement was a few li.st comments here or there.
  3. But she was brave and sharp and caring and introspective.
  4. I loved the way that she didn't stifle her beliefs when they were unpopular.
Hell, I disagreed with pretty much all of them. But would I have the courage to be true to myself, my upbringing, my values while constantly facing backlash? I'm honestly not sure if I would.
  5. I loved the way she loved, offering compliments, words of advice and support to people when they needed it.
  6. I loved reading her poems.
    They were beautiful.
  7. They made me think and feel and empathize and imagine.
So subtle, light and heavy all at once.
  8. I didn't know her well, but I noticed her, and I admired her and respected her so much.
  9. It would be hard not to- she was honestly one of the greats of li.st.
  10. The world was better with her in it.
  11. This community will be different without her in it.
  12. It makes me angry and heartbroken that our society is still ill-equipped to handle mental illness and substance abuse problems, that these get swept under the rug or stigmatized.
  13. Too many wonderful people's lives are cut short.
  14. My condolences to those who knew her well, her family and friends.
  15. Rest in peace, Biz❤️❤️❤️
  16. You'll be missed by so, so many.
