The buildings have an entrance fee but the grounds are free. Pack a picnic or snacks and wander around the art installations. Then get in your car and drive up the hills a mile or so to Mt. Bonnell.

100 stone steps up to the best views of the city!

Awesome for brunch or for late night cravings (they're open 24 hours and have locations all over town). I highly recommend the Kerbey queso and the Migas!

  20. Zilker Kite Festival
If you're here this Sunday (March 6th) you should check this out! Bring a kite or just grab some food and watch other people fly super elaborate ones. Even without the festival Zilker Park is a good place to hang out and enjoy the skyline.
