The perfect list for Halloween. For the past few years I've read a Christmas book or two every December. Here's what I've covered. Taking suggestions for this year!
  1. A Christmas Carol
THE Christmas book. My favorite. I make an attempt to re-read this every year but usually stop after Jacob Marley's visitation because that's the best part.
  2. Skipping Christmas
A quick, funny read. The movie (Christmas with the Kranks) is slightly more entertaining.
  3. Miracle on 34th Street
Novella written after the fact by the guy who wrote the screenplay for the movie, Valentine Davies (what a great name)
  4. Hercule Poirot's Christmas
    Top notch Agatha Christie.
  5. A Christmas Story
Written by Jean Shepard. These are the essays that inspired the movie. So funny stuff here. The majority of the narration in the film is taken word for word from these essays I believe.
  6. The picture books.
Stuff like How the Grinch Stole Christmas, the Night Before Christmas ect.
  7. Connie Willis' "Miracle and Other Christmas Stories." Humorous, heart warming, science fiction/fantasy. 😊
