  1. Taking the SATs is like any other skill - it takes guidance and practice
The SAT is not a magical determinator of intelligence and worth. Taking the test is a skill, like driving, but some students don't have the means for tutors and practice books.
  2. If a student has the drive to do well, he or she deserves help
My students gave up precious summer time to study and improve their scores. That level of discipline should not go to waste.
  3. If you don't have time to volunteer, that's fine, but it only takes a minute to donate
I volunteered when I was a part-time summer intern. I loved it - it was fun! I have much less free time now, but it only took a minute to donate.
