MOVIES I WATCH EVERY YEAR

Inspired by @ladyprofessor and @Nicholas
  1. CHRISTMAS MOVIES
  2. MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL
If I jump the gun and watch a Christmas movie before the day after Thanksgiving, it's this movie. It's my favorite Christmas movie and I watch it several times a season. On VHS.
  3. ELF
    Traditional day after Thanksgiving movie.
  4. HOLIDAY IN HANDCUFFS
This is a ridiculous holiday movie starring Sabrina the Teenage Witch and AC Slater. It makes me laugh like crazy and I usually watch it after Elf.
  5. IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE
Go to holiday classic. Usually watch this with my parents. It has me crying and laughing back to back because my two favorite scenes are both together close to the end.
  6. THE REF
    I love Denis Leary.
  7. THE GRINCH WHO STOLE CHRISTMAS
Animated Boris Karloff edition. I also frequently call people _______Lou Who after Cindy Lou Who in this show.
  8. GREMLINS
    Classic 80's Christmas!
  9. DIE HARD 1 and 2.
These are the best movies for being in the Christmas spirit, but also in the mood to kick a little ass!
  10. SPRINGTIME
  11. TWISTER
This is a family favorite and a classic sick day movie.
  12. TREMORS
Usually in conjunction with Twister. We also have Tremors 2, 3 and 4, for particularly persistent, week long spring illnesses. I have not seen Tremors 5 Bloodlines yet, but I will.
  13. THE PRINCESS BRIDE
For when the despair of winter is over and your heart feels light again.
  14. CHRISTMAS DAY
  15. STAR WARS
When all the craziness of Christmas Day is over and I finally can relax, I make a leftovers sandwich and watch Star Wars. The original trilogy used to be on tv on Christmas Day and we'd catch bits and pieces while getting ready.
  16. SUMMER
  17. VALLEY GIRL
    Hello first real love! 😍
  18. SHAG
We can have a good time, but we cannot be wild. This is a sisters movie. Even if we can't be together we text and watch it together.
  19. SPLASH
Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah perfection. John Candy, Eugene Levy, it's perfect for when you want to laugh out loud.
  20. JOE VS. THE VOLCANO
Best in the middle of summer or the middle of winter, whenever you just want to escape.
  21. AUTUMN
  22. GILMORE GIRLS
Not a movie but I definitely watch the first 5 episodes as an autumn pick me up.
  23. GHOSTBUSTERS
    Good spooky fun!
  24. SEPTEMBER 10
  25. PHILADELPHIA STORY
This is a story(spoiler alert!) about a woman who gets back with her ex. This is not something I would EVER do, but I watch this movie on our anniversary (or around there) to remind me of good things.
  26. JANUARY
  27. THE CUTTING EDGE
One day I'll probably learn to ice skate.
  28. THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION
Classic escapism when there is snow on the ground.
  29. JAMES BOND MOVIES
Diamonds are Forever, You Only Live Twice, Thunderball, Never Say Never Again, Goldfinger- There used to be marathons on TBS and I spent one winter watching them while I was pregnant with my daughter and on bed rest. I always fit in several in January. Edited for gif accuracy. Thanks @Gola
