The Day the Music Died

So much talent silenced 57 years ago today in a plane crash.
  1. Buddy Holly
Just 22 years old. Talent, talent, talent. Guitars and glasses are a great combo. Inducted into Rock Hall of Fame in 1986.
  2. Ritchie Valens
Up and coming star, just 17 years old. Brief career but influential nonetheless. Inducted into Rock hall of Fame in 2001.
  3. J.P "Big Bopper" Richardson
29 years old. Was a DJ and singer from Beaumont, Texas
  4. American Pie
In 1971 Don McClean released "American Pie" and many say the event was an influence for the song. I've never met the man so I can't confirm but when you listen to it, it seems like a connection.
  5. Countless artists influenced by them.
  6. Imagine all the great music they would have continued to make.
  7. Go play something from each one and enjoy it!
Peggy Sue, LaBamba, and Chantilly Lace are the most commonly known but go ahead, pick something you don't know and revel in the talent.
