Giving Tuesday

  1. I'm obsessed with babywearing. This amazing group is on the ground in Greece giving baby carriers to refugees who are arriving in Europe with their little ones. I know how indispensable a carrier is in my pampered suburban life to let me carry my baby while keeping my hands free to parent my toddler, make coffee, shop at Target, etc. etc. I can't even imagine the difference a carrier will make in attempting to emigrate to another country. (501c3 status pending, but I donated anyway)
  2. St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation (Phoenix):
Specifically the Thoracic Center fund. This was the first medical treatment we sought after my mom had a seizure and the ER discovered spots in her lungs and brain that they suspected may be metastatic lung cancer. I am passionate about early detection of lung cancer for high risk individuals (hi, all our baby boomer parents who spent the 70s and 80s smoking) and St. Joe's has a cutting edge local screening program.
  3. Saving One Life:
My friend heads up this local charity saving kitty cats. 😻 I love knowing how much my donation means to them. They are so small that my modest donation isn't just a drop in an enormous bucket. I could actually go see the sweet faces that eat the food that my gift buys. 🐈
  4. The Junior League of Phoenix Foundation:
I'm technically not donating to them today because I am going to an event on Friday and I'm planning to donate there. But I'm counting it since it's this week. I've been a member of the Junior League of Phoenix for the past 8 years. I have a whole list about the Junior League in drafts, but for now I'll just say that I have loved being a part of the organization and I will continue to support it with my time, talent and treasure.
