Things to amuse a 2.5 year old on a plane?

Looking for suggestions!
  1. Books
  2. Sticker activity books
  3. Roll of painter's tape
  4. Endless snacks
  5. A little carton of floss. (Or five)
She loves to unravel it and then wrap the string around her toys. It's held her attention for 20ish minutes which in toddler time is basically months.

  6. Bubbles
We pulled these out during those final painful 20 minutes of landing and deplaning.

  7. They have the coloring books now with markers that only work on the pages. That should hold him for 20-30 mins

  8. My 2 year old loves the Water Wow books by Melissa and Doug. They color with water, there's no mess, and they dry up and you can reuse them. They were a hit on our last 10 hour drive to the beach

  9. Post It notes and crayons
He can stick and unstick his masterpieces all over the place.

  10. Rubiks Cube
Although they might be considered as a weapon. Those things are dense.

  11. Swear to all that is holy- When my son was two, he played with this squishy yo yo ball from Oregon to Chicago. Pretty much the entire flight. He just yo-yoed it back and forth. One time only trick, but whatever!

  12. Toddler apps on a phone or tablet. Just check to make sure sound isn't necessary unless your little one loves headphones. Also, many toddlers are fascinated with taking pictures of themself so maybe give them something with a front facing camera

  13. magna-doodle

  14. Stickers. Lots and lots of stickers. And a sticker book for them to be stuck into. Has kept out toddlers good on many many flights. Also, be open to using the environment: we've gotten a lot of usage from window shade (up and down) tray tables (up and down) seat buckles (on and off) and those plastic cups. Teething ones love to chew those cups.

  15. Toys they haven't seen before!
My mom used to keep a box of "plane toys" in the house that we only got to play with while flying. Less chance that your kid will already be bored of them

  16. Also definitely have snacks and drinks accessible
You'll want kiddo to be eating a snack during ascent & descent because it helps with the ear pressure

  17. Lastly, as a flight attendant, things I'd prefer you not to bring on the plane
Crayons or markers (your kid will end up coloring on the plane), play doh (it will end up ground into the carpet), any VERY loud toy.

  18. Those magic marker activity books with the invisible ink

  19. A Water Wow coloring book... They "paint" with a brush filled with water! Looks cool and doesn't make a mess!

  20. Wikki Sticks
Waxy pipe cleaners. No mess, super fun for adults too. They are the best! Get one that includes a book so that they can try to make some shapes. Also seconding any of the water coloring books, they are infinitely amusing. Lots on Amazon.
