I lost weight when we did a Whole 30 last spring, and I liked that way of eating. My eating has crept back up tho, and I need to curtail it somehow. I don't wanna go back to strict calorie counting like I have in the past, bc it often leads to more processed food. Hoping admitting what goes in my mouth will help me eat less!
  1. Today, breakfast: 1/2 pear and breakfast sandwich {1/2 torta roll, 1 egg, 1 slice bacon, 1/2 slice cheddar}. Then had a small slice of pretzel bread someone left in the break room and I couldn't resist!
  2. Today, lunch: tragically, left own yummy lunch at home. 😭 So, made small plate of nachos w breakroom stash to tide me over, then got 6 inch pizza and salad after work.
  3. Dinner - small amount of burrito pie, large amount of chopped salad. (With salsa instead of dressing.)

  1. THE SECRET ADVERSARY. Oh man. The cover available in Goodreads is hilarious!! And, while wildly improbable, I always enjoy the adventures of Tommy and Tuppence. Haven't read this one in probably 15 years, but really enjoyed it on audio.
  2. FEVER. This is a review title (comes out next month). Kind of The Road-y (father and son are traveling South Africa in the wake of a terrible plague which has killed 95% of people), but they stop and build a Utopian community in the heart of South Africa, gathering hundreds of other survivors.
  3. FUZZY NATION. I love John Scalzi - he writes super funny sci fi. And this one is narrated by Wil Wheaton, which makes it even more delightful.

  1. I haven't been on li.st in months.
  2. But, I deleted FB and Twitter off my phone last night (again).
  3. And I was thinking li.st might be a less blood-pressuring form of social media for a while.

Eleanor will be 7 on Saturday, and as an early present she got her ears pierced last weekend. This all started with me saying, "Let me take a pic of your earrings!"

  1. "Reading"...
Theoretically I'm about to start this one which I got sent for review.
  2. Actually....
Reading li.sts. And catching up on Voxes.
  3. Contemplating...
Getting back out of bed to go get one more lemon snap.
  4. Update...
😴😴😴 The book can wait till tomorrow. 🙂

  2. You always choose a book over tv.
  3. You really hate mayonnaise.

  1. We've had dinner together nearly every week for 9 years.
  2. Usually involving a lot of bread. And cheese.
  3. It's been a lovely era.
But it ended tonight! Meghan is moving across the country tomorrow.

Some are clearly inspired by Inside Out. But I love Eleanor's creativity. And I'm so impressed, she drew all of these in less than 30 minutes. As someone who can barely draw stick figures, sometimes I'm bewildered by this artsy offspring of mine.

  1. Cork Dork
I can't go faster than a 2.0 and read, or I get motion sick. 😝 I'm about halfway through this one, and quite enjoying it, even though I don't drink wine! (I have nothing against wine, I just think it tastes gross. 😜)
  2. The Wind Off The Small Isles
I have read Mary Stewart's books to the point they're all falling apart, so I was thrilled to discover a novella I'd never read was recently republished after 40 years out of print. It was set on Lanzarote (one of the volcanic Canary Islands), and now I can't stop google image searching Lanzarote. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  3. The Sound of Gravel
An intense, but great, FLDS memoir. Trigger warnings (sexual abuse, sudden death). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
