  5. I get it. I understand it. I just find it obnoxiously fearful and limiting.
  6. Imagine this: someone, on the brink of an idea, a hope. Someone who is far better at emotion regulation than you, but just as impressionable. Someone who has the audacity to be different. They build the courage to tell you that they want to do that 'something different' and you pull out...
  7. "Well, you know, the grass is always greener on the other side" with that look of faux sage wisdom on your face.
    You can't help it. You might have put yourself out there once. You got hurt. Your expectations weren't met.
  8. And then they rescind. They dial back their ambition. They question themselves. They limit themselves.
    Even if it were but for a moment. You sowed the seed of doubt in their mind.
  9. How very dare you!
    Stop that behaviour at once!
  10. I say, the grass is as green as you water it. On either side!
  11. Go hiking those green hills!
