Just a Perth girl sharing her love of Melbourne for @emmajaneruth ... please add your fave Melb-loves so Emma can have the best week ever! Suggest your fave coffee, food and yoga spots +
  1. The coffee ☕️ +
Virtually any cafe will serve you a well priced barista coffee. We call an Americano a Black coffee, a Flat White is similar to a cappuccino sans the chocolate dusting and a macchiato is an espresso with a dash (or more specifically, a stain) of milk.. oh and if you want cream, you'll need to ask.. it's not custom here. Avoid chain-looking cafes.
  2. The food +
So many great restaurants in Melbourne. It is food mecca. Best you ask a local for an up to date list of the best restaurants, however when I was there last August I went to Mamasita's and it was phenomenal. They serve Mexican and Tequila.
  3. Yoga +
There are so many great yoga studios in Melbourne. If that's you thing, hit me up for a sub list!
  4. All the "little" street lanes
In the CBD there are tons of cool lane ways, check them out!
  5. St Kilda
    For a stroll... and lunch.
  6. Chapel Street precinct
Stroll around and grab a coffee or another avocado toast from Soldier On espresso!
  7. lululemon athletica
Ok! I'm biased, however there are two kickass outlet stores (one near the city in Collingwood) and so many full prices beautiful stores.. check out Chapel Street's store when you grab a Soldier On coffee!
  8. Sorrento day trip
Head down the coast to Sorrento! Such a beautiful spot with beautiful people.
  9. 🚫 beware 🚫
  10. It's "summer" in Melbourne
Melbourne is the city known for having four seasons in one day.. beware! Check the forecast, and then layer!
  11. It's tram-city
Beware crossing the roads! This is novel to me as Perth doesn't have trams. I believe they are not the cheapest form of transport though. Does Melbourne still allow Uber?
  12. Hosier Lane
It's pretty packed with tourists but it's really cool

  16. If you're vegan or vegetarian or just love a great veggie meal you can't go past Brunswick St Fitzroy.
Recommended restaurants include: The Veggie Bar (everything on the menu is delicious, trust me, I've worked my way through the whole menu!), Yong Green Food (for healthy bowls of pure yumminess), and Smith & Daughters (vegan Latin food that'll make weep with joy).

  17. The Queen Victoria Markets
I love the deli in these markets. SO much yummy food!! Also a great place to pick up lunch. They are open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and the weekend. Wednesday the night market is open from 5-10pm. Just jump on any team heading up Elizabeth street.

  18. If you've got time for a day trip of two there's plenty to see outside the city.
You could see The Great Ocean Road, or the Yarra Valley or Mornington Peninsula for a wine tour. There's a few bus companies that can take you there. When I was in Melbourne a couple of years ago I did a wine tour of Yarra Valley. The bus left at 9, stopped at several wineries throughout the day, lunch was included, and I was dropped off in the city at about 6.
