A Different 20 Questions

Inspired by @aniko .. @roaringsoftly ☺️ (sorry ladies, couldn't keep the all caps!)
  1. 1.
    Introvert or Extrovert?
Introvert by nature and Extrovert by nurture. I finally understand how this combo works!
  2. 2.
Do you have any physical scars? If so, from what?
Yes! I have a few. The largest is on my left hand below my pinky finger. It wraps from my palm to the back of my hand. I was 17, go-carting with 'the boys' (inc my crush) and slowed down on the track, when one of the guys rounded the corner. He hit my cart, and it jumped mine. On its way up and over it sliced my hand. I got a lot of attention from my crush!
  3. 3.
What religion were you raised, if any?
I was raised Catholic. I wouldn't say either of my parents were super devout. Mum ticked all the Catholic boxes though and I have all my sacraments prior to marriage. I was adamant about being married where we scattered my Dads ashes, hence, I am not married in the eyes of the Catholic church..
  4. 4.
What religion do you practice, if any?
I am no longer practicing. I was pretty devout up to about 19 yo. If anything, and I know it's cliche to say, I feel more comfortable with spirituality than orthodox religious structure. That being said, I'm super open minded and would learn a new religion if I were so inclined.
  5. 5.
    Are you registered to vote?
Voting is compulsory in Australia. So, yes I am (by default of being an over 18 yo, Australian Citizen!)
  6. 6.
    Favourite Dr Seuss story?
I was always pretty excited by Green Eggs and Ham.
  7. 7.
Consistent quality in the majority of people you're attracted to?
An inherent good nature. Second to this, humour. In terms of physical qualities, eye contact and a firm handshake (irrespective of gender!)
  8. 8.
How old were you the first time you fell in love?
I'm trying to discern between infatuation and love.. hmm. I also think that love takes different forms. Proper, heart-skips-a-beat love, was about 17-18. I thought it was unrequited, and when 'it was too late', I found out it was reciprocated.
  9. 9.
What item/thing that you consider a luxury could you not live without?
Monthly waxing. Yep! I started at 17 and have never missed an appointment. It's expensive and I could use a razor.. but that won't happen! As a povo student, I'm currently funding my waxes with the grocery budget!
  10. 10.
What celebrity would you lose your shit over if you met at a dinner party?
Ok, lose your shit is fairly outrageous. Have you no class?! 😏 Right now, I would be very excited to dine with @bjnovak. I won't lie. I really just want to ask when 'the next book' is likely to be written. So maybe we can spare the dinner party and just answer in the comments?! EDIT: wait.. wait.. I'd lose my shit (and my class) for Ryan Reynolds! How did I forget that?!
  11. 11.
Worst year of school and why?
HIGH SCHOOL! Nah, that's not entirely true. All my bad experiences were accompanied by positives. If I had to pick one, maybe year 11? It was a year into Dad's brain tumor diagnosis.. I was failing my core subjects because I was very ambitiously (and poorly) trying to follow my sister's academic journey. Yeah, year 11. That was a bitch of a year.
  12. 12.
    Where were you born?
I was born at Swan Districts Hospital in Perth, Western Australia.
  13. 13.
Where would you most like to live?
Other than Australia, because let's face it, it is the lucky country for a reason!.. Probably California, the southern end. Maybe in La Jolla with my friend. Her snaps are always so 😍👌🏼🌅. I'm a summer gal, so I need that sunshine vibe! I could happily live most places though, I'm adaptable!
  14. 14.
    What languages do you speak?
English is my native-language and I get by (only just) in Italian. @Lisa_Fav is inspiring me to get back into Italian. I'll start up (lessons) again in the summer with my Dad's cousin when she returns from Italy.
  15. 15.
    What are you addicted to?
Coffee. Curiosity (Δ travel).. I'm sure there are more things. My family would suggest I'm addicted to my phone.. I'd argue that point!
  16. 16.
Are you kind to yourself on a regular basis? How?
Yes. Essentially yes. Not in that consistent green juice and yoga daily way though. I practice self-care when needed. I'll reshuffle and reprioritise the minute I know I'm going down hill. I surround myself in positivity always and I feel it strongly when I'm not in that vibe. I am kind to myself because I try to put myself first (it's not easy, especially in a marriage)
  17. 17.
How do you feel about your body?
I love my body. Mostly from a place of gratitude over vanity. When I was distance running, I'd mentally talk to the parts of my body working the hardest and give them gratitude. I sound like a weirdo, yet it truly did enrich my self-appreciation. As for the vanity side?.. I take care of the old girl, I feel like she's doing ok.
  18. 18.
What do people assume about you that makes you crazy?
I was shocked to find out that some people have found me intimidating and/or snobbish. Learning that shocked me because I don't see myself in that light at all! I am confident, so I can kind of understand the intimidation although I am not at all bullish, so I'm not sure about that. I always maintain that I'm better in person! You tell me! What do you assume about me?!
  19. 19.
Which of your views about the world has changed most drastically throughout your life.
Social norms and conforms. Really, what's normal? Who said? Why? This started changing for me in my late 20's.
  20. 20.
What are you really good at?
😏 ... I'm good at a lot of things! According to @amieshmamie, I'm good at writing list titles.. and according to @Lisa_Fav's last list, I'm good at writing one liners in other people's lists! #EGO!
