1. Getting ready to get down by Josh Ritter
Might be the catchiest song I heard all year
  2. California by Grimes
I didn't love the album as much as everybody else did but this song was fantastic
  3. King Kunta by Kendrick Lamar
I almost blew out my speakers with this one several times
  4. S.O.B by Nathaniel Ratecliff and the hot sweats
I read that this guy used to being a folk band. Not sure if that's true but this song rocked
  5. My shot by Lin Manuel Miranda
Has there been anything bigger culturally this year than the Hamilton musical
  6. Good for you/Same old love by Selena Gomez
I know this is cheating but I couldn't decide which one and these songs stuck in your head
  7. Weight of love by the Black Keys
Just a perfect rock song. Musically it felt like a step back to the 70s
  8. I love you honey bear by Father John Misty
This was a fantastic album and he was great in concert this past summer. Opening his shows with this song made it clear one song in that it was going to be a night to remember
  9. Pedestrian at best by Courtney Barnett
Right away, instantly, probably the best lyricist making music today.
  10. I can't feel my face/The Hills/Earned it by The Weeknd
Now this is really cheating. I admit it. But did anybody dominate music more than The Weeknd this year
