Dear Facebook, I think we have to break up.

It's not me. It's definitely you (well, mostly your users).
  1. We started out great back in college when you had to go to a college to even have an account.
  2. I liked it when I didn't have to stick to "Jessica Dunlap is..." for my status.
  3. I really liked it when you took away that 60 photo limit for albums.
  4. Other highlights from our relationship:
Cover photos, the like button, the other feelings buttons, opening to the public (although I suspect that was the beginning of the decline), being able to send money to friends through messenger, messenger, the ability to block someone from my feed but not delete them as a friend.
  5. Some rough patches we hit:
  6. I JUST WANT TO SEE MY FEED CHRONOLOGICALLY. I DON'T NEED YOU FILTERING WHAT I SEE.
  7. I think you read my messages and tailor ads to them.
  8. The share button.
It's a love hate relationship. Mostly hate because I'm 100% sure that people sharing fake news stories on Facebook led to He Who Must Not Be Named being elected.
  9. ...
  10. I do love the ability to connect with people I don't see very often. I love seeing babies and puppies.
  11. I don't love all of the other sh!t I see. Why couldn't we just stick to photos and statuses?
    YOU RUINED THIS RELATIONSHIP.
  12. I don't need reminders of how many of my exes are dating/married while I'm a single mom.
Although I will say I might be happier with my life then most of them.
  13. I don't need to see all of the anti-Obama stuff that my dad IS STILL POSTING.
  14. I don't need your "copy and paste or you'll die" statuses.
  15. Instagram and the List app make me very happy. Babies, puppies, and (mostly) kind, interesting words.
  16. I'll probably still hit "share to Facebook" on Instagram because I don't want to make the relatives angry if they don't see Clay every 48 hours.
  17. I'll occasionally use you messenger because that's how I communicate with a couple of people.
  18. But I'm turning off your notifications. I'm hiding your icon on the third page of the folder where I hide all the other rarely used apps on my phone.
  19. I wish we could work things out but I just get SO ANGRY at you everyday and my blood pressure can't take it.
  20. Peace out, Jess
