1. Explore San Francisco.
    There is a ton to do in the city: the Embarcadero, Golden Gate Park, California Academy of Arts and Sciences, Castro Theatre, Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, the Presidio, and more.
  2. Go to a game.
    Northern California has plenty of sports teams: Warriors, Kings, Giants, A's, Raiders, Niners, and Sharks.
  3. Drink wine.
    Napa and Sonoma are world renowned wine areas.
  4. Drink beer.
    There is plenty of delicious beer, too. Pretty much anywhere you go you can find a craft brewery.
  5. Monterey Bay Aquarium
    Visit the fishies.
  6. Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
    The Giant Dipper is way cooler than it sounds.
  7. Hitch a ride on a hot air balloon.
    Both Napa and Woodland offer hot air balloon rides fairly regularly.
  8. Hike along the coast.
    The Marin Headlands and Point Reyes have awe inspiring hikes. A little farther south you can find beautiful Big Sur.
  9. Visit the redwoods.
    Muir Woods, Avenue of the Giants, Redwood National and State Parks.
  10. Explore the mountains.
    Get away from the coast and visit Yosemite or other mountains in the Sierra Nevadas.
