Disneyland and Walt Disney World share a lot of the same attractions, but as people that have been to both resorts can attest, they are not necessarily identical. Here's my take on which Disneyland attractions are better than the WDW versions...
- 1.Pirates of the CaribbeanThis is not really a close call. The west coast version is longer, has more scenes, and actually incorporates some (minor) thrills into the attraction. It's spoiled the WDW version for me.
- 2.(Hyper)Space MountainThe Star Wars overlay really adds a ton to this attraction, but even without it, the California version gets the nod for a smoother ride and awesome music.
- 3.it's a small worldI'm candidly not a huge fan of either version, but the Disneyland version has an incredible, iconic facade and an outdoor component that elevates it.
- 4.Big Thunder MountainPretty close call, both great rides, but the explosive effects in the final scene and the vertigo-inducing goat give Disneyland's version the edge.
