What to Eat in Vegas

A round-up of restaurants on and off the strip by a local self-proclaimed foodie
  1. Pinkbox Donuts (Summerlin & Henderson)
A couple locations around town, this donut shop is usually open 24/7. Pretty much the most amazing donuts you'll ever eat. Get a traditional or try the fat Elvis, which is filled with peanut butter, covered in chocolate and topped with a banana chip! $
  2. Rise and Shine (So. Summerlin)
  3. Hearthstone (Summerlin)
  4. Echo & Rig (Summerlin)
A restaurant/butcher is all you need! Located way off-strip in summerlin, this is a great spot for weekend brunch or a nice dinner. They have an on-site butcher so you can bring home your own beef! Sit out on the upstairs patio if the weather is nice! $$$
  5. Honey Salt (Summerlin)
Another summerlin hot spot. Locally sourced food with that farm-to-table vibe. Great seasonal options along with all your favorites. Also serve a great weekend brunch. $$$
  6. Marche Bachus (Summerlin)
  7. Vintner Grill (Summerlin)
  8. Arawan Thai (E. Sahara)
Do not let this restaurant's location in somewhat scary strip mall scare you off. It's the best Thai food I've ever had!!! The outside does not match the calming inside. Start with one of their beautiful flowering teas, try any main course and end with their works of art desserts!! You will be back! $$
  9. Lotus of Siam (E. Sahara)
Often rated as Vegas' top Thai restaurant. I think it has strong competition from Arawan. Always a local favorite and cannot go wrong with this place. Again, don't let its location scare you off! $$
  10. Monta Ramen (Chinatown)
This noodle place always receives top marks and has been voted best of Las Vegas several times. It's reputation is well deserved! Their ramen bowls are top-notch deliciousness! It's tiny though so be prepared to wait or go at an off-time. $
  11. Le Thai (Downtown/Fremont)
  12. Don Juans (Downtown)
Hole in the wall feel with a bigger dining room! Good old fashion Mexican food with lots of cheese and no fancy changes. Really friendly place with food that will satisfy. Now also a Summerlin location. $$
  13. Tacos and Beer (Paradise)
  14. Firefly (Paradise)
Delicious tapas that will never leave you hungry. Get a variety for the table so everyone can share. Famous for their stuffed dates, but you can't go wrong here - everything is great, including the paella (order that early as it takes longer to make) $$
  15. Giada (Cromwell Hotel)
Famous chef Giada has a place located in the Cromwell on the strip. Reservations recommended. The dishes are kind of pricey, but really good. The lemon cookie at the end might make the price worth it! $$$$
  16. RM Seafood (Mandalay Bay)
Located within Mandalay Bay is Rick Moonen's place. A little pricey, but the food is amazing. You may also get a glimpse of the famous chef who is frequently onsite!! The first time I ate here, I bought his cookbook they sell at the restaurant and Rick came to the table, spoke to us awhile and signed the book!! His willingness to talk to fans makes you want to keep coming back!! $$$$
  17. Foundation Room (Mandalay Bay)
You're paying for the view here more than the food. The view is amazing from the top of Mandalay Bay. The food was good, but not really memorable, except for the fact that it was really pricey! Go for the experience and maybe stick to appetizers and champagne! $$$$$
  18. Lago (Mandalay Bay)
  19. Border Grill (Mandalay Bay)
This is a fun upscale southwestern Mexican restaurant with great food. I always try to sit outside because the view of the pools is beautiful and inside is a little boring compared to that. $$$
  20. Burger Bar (Mandalay Bay Shops)
Hubert Keller has a Burger bar?! Yep - and it's good. If you want a celebrity chef restaurant without the high price tag, try this upscale burger place. $$
  21. Charlie Palmer Steak (Mandalay/Four Seasons)
  22. Mix
  23. Sage (Aria)
Located in the Aria, this place may be best known for their amazing original drinks!! The bartender creates specialty drink on the spot that are so delicious you'll have to come back to drink it again! The food is not shabby either. Great pastas and pretty much everything else! $$$$
  24. Pub 1842 (MGM)
A Michael Mina restaurant with delicious elevated pub food. Been known to serve the best burger ever! More low key than other celeb chef places but just as good. Has a cool brewery vibe. Try the soft pretzel or else! $$
  25. Craftsteak (MGM)
  26. Serendipity 3 (Caesars)
An offshoot of New York's famous dessert shoppe, the frozen hot chocolate doesn't disappoint. They serve food here too and it's not bad, but save room for dessert!! Try and snag a spot on the outdoor patio so you can watch all the tourists walk by. If you just won big at the slots, get the $1,000 Sunday with real gold flecks! $$
  27. Mesa Grill (Caesars)
Bobby Flay's southwestern take on Mexican is delish. Not your typical Mexican dishes, these have a distinct flare. Pare anything with one of their unique cocktails. $$$
  28. Searsucker (Caesars)
  29. Buddy V's (
  30. SW Steakhouse (Wynn)
  31. Sake Rok
Located just outside the T-Mobile stadium. They serve ah-mazing sushi and sides while your waiter dances in the aisle. It's a little loud so if you're wanting a romantic evening, this isn't it. But if you're wanting great sushi, try this place out before your next concert. $$$-$$$$
  32. Shake Shack (City Center & Downtown Summerlin)
  33. Bouchon
  34. Carnevino
  35. Le Cirque (Bellagio)
  36. Olives (Bellagio)
  37. Mastro's Ocean Club (City Center)
A restaurant located in a tree house!!! When making a reservation, make sure to ask to be in the treehouse. This is a west coast chain, but this branch is special. Although pricey, the food is all delicious. The lobster Mac and cheese is to die for. $worth it for special occasions. $$$$
  38. Mom Ami Gabi (Paris)
  39. Scarpetta
  40. Carmine's
  41. Julian Serrano (Aria)
  42. Michael Mina
  43. STK Las Vegas
  44. Emeril's Fish House
  45. Jean George's Steakhouse
