My Weekly List of Curiousities
  1. Coconut oil pulling
Mostly I am interested in the dental benefits rather than the overall health claims I've been reading about. It's a commitment to swish for up to 20 minutes a day.
  2. Fireside Mystery Theatre podcast
I love the idea of an old school live radio show. So fun!
  3. Loopy Mango
You know those giant knitted blankets you see on Pinterest? You can get a beginner kit to make them through this etsy shop. For $242.
  4. Hartwood: Bright, Wild Flavors from the Edge of the Yucatan, by Eric Werner
Someday we will stand in those long lines and eat at Hartwood in Tulum. For now, this gorgeous book will do.
  5. Ruth Reichl's web site
Somehow I missed she has a blog. Added it to my feedly.
  6. Coyote hazing
There are coyotes (and coy wolves) in our area. We've been walking in more remote areas and I'm concerned about them hurting my dog. There are methods for scaring them away.
  7. Anomalisa
IFFBoston showed this at their fall focus series and people were tweeting about how great it is. Releases at the end of the year.
  8. Courtney Crumrin
Somehow I ended this series with Vol. 3. There are 4 more volumes!
  9. Black and white, The Walking Dead comic
I ordered the compendiums to read and was curious if the individual issues were also in black and white. They are. Also the Dale/Andrea thing is creeping me out. And the Carol at the prison thing. And the Michonne at Woodbury horribleness.
  10. Ezydog harness
Stephen destroys his harnesses so I am always looking for new ones to try. These seem like a good option.
  11. Flykt, Cleverlayover, and Fareness
Some great sites I just learned about that give you more flexibility for vacation searching.
  12. The Great Pottery Throwdown
Like our current household fave, The Great British Bake Off, but with pottery wheels. Brilliant!
  13. Sequin Christmas tree skirt
I've been looking for one for years. Still looking ...
  14. Valladolid, Mexico
We're going to Mexico again this winter. This town is about 90 minutes from where we will be staying and has some beautiful cenotes to swim in.
  15. Gallery Walk app
Every Friday night in Provincetown there is a gallery walk in the East End. I had no idea there was an app for that!
  16. Joan Didion Documentary
I completely forgot I backed this film on Kickstarter. So glad I did and hope it is as good as it looks like it will be.
Looking for a gem of a podcast in that sea of muck? This site from NPR will save you from wasted hours listening to bad podcasts.
  18. Flower frogs
No wonder my flower arrangements look so bad! Adding one to my Christmas list.
  19. Turmeric
Have you read how many health benefits this has? Adding to my diet immediately!
  20. Hamilton, Broadway musical, soundtrack
People are downloading this in droves. I had no idea how popular this musical is. Even Obama has seen it. More than once. "Thomas Jefferson's coming home. Thomas Jefferson's coming home."
