I used to live there, and we are going back for 10 nights this winter. I've already started a list of things I will be eating and doing, but @erinrose has inspired me to post it. I will be adding to it - I'm sure.
  1. Ramen at Ippudo
Probably twice. Am I going to have enough time for all these meals?
  2. American Museum of Natural History
I've been going since I was 4. Maybe my favorite spot in NYC. I never miss it. The Milstein Family Hall of Ocean Life is oddly soothing.
  3. Walk through Central Park from The Museum of Natural History to 5th Avenue
  4. Walk Down 5th Ave to Rockefeller Center
Look at Bergdorf's dreamy windows, feel all nostalgic about New York, be sad about FAO Schwarz moving, get mad at tourists, run to the subway and go back to the safety of downtown.
  5. Eating a Coconut Tiger Shrimp sandwich at Num Pang.
If I could only eat one sandwich for the rest of my life, it might be this one. Their bread is magical.
  6. Doughnuts at The Doughnut Plant
I'm not even a sweets person, but I will be going here a few times when back.
  7. Check Out the New Whitney Museum space.
Can't wait to see their new digs!
  8. A Browse Through Eataly.
Gelato, espresso, and probably a few treats to take home.
  9. Dinner at Frankie's 457 or 570
It all depends on if we are in Brooklyn it Manhattan, but I'll be going to one.
  10. MOMA
And a way too long browsing trip in their design store.
  11. Lobster Roll at Luke's Lobster
  12. A Walk Along the a High Line - End in the Chelsea Market
  13. Happy Hour at the Mermaid Inn
    And then stay for dinner.
  14. Lunch at Kelley and Ping
    After lots of Soho shopping.
  15. The Winter Flea - the Brooklyn Flea's Indoor Friend
  16. Smorgasburg
Will be open this winter in a weather-friendly indoor location - Yay!
  17. Bagels - At Murray's
    A classic and a favorite.
  18. Opera at The Met
    Because sometimes we're feeling fancy.
  19. Cocktails at the Rusty Knot
Other times we feel less fancy.
  20. Dim Sum at Redfarm
I love the chef! I might go for dinner too.
  21. Pizza in Brooklyn
Probably at an old neighborhood favorite. But this is TBD.
