What I was doing when the same sex marriage law passed

I was driving to a dr appointment
And my phone alerted me that the Supreme Court had an announcement to make. I had been anxiously checking for a decision on the same sex marriage law. So I knew right away what it was about. I had my daughter get on and check until the announcement was made. I almost drove off the road when she told me. Then I started crying. The images all day filled me with joy. This picture of the interns running to deliver the news gets me every time

Same sex marriage was complete legally in the whole country in 2005. We were the 2nd country to do it. My province legalized it in 2004. I was in my early 20s and remember being surprised as I thought it always was legal.

I was in Napa Valley and read the decision while working in my hotel room. I was so excited!
Later, I was spending the day with some customers and employees of my main client, many of whom were conservative women and one other really liberal lady. One of them mentioned being upset about the decision and I put on a clinic! Legal and moral. 😊

I was out (not out out thoughπŸ˜‰) fabric shopping with some super conservative Christians, but I dragged them to lush and I bought rainbow bath bombs
And I argued with them on why they should be pro gays. (It didn't convince them but it's okay, someday they will probably figure it out) annndd sent a ton of rainbow pictures back and forth with my fav pro gays

I read the news on some form of social media (Twitter I think). I remember being incredibly happy that everyone in this country can now marry whoever it is that they love. Love won / continues to win. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸŒˆβ€οΈπŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’œ

Walking to the train from work. 🌈
It was two days before the pride parade. I was getting snapchats from so many people saying "our love is legal" and feeling so many emotions. I remember walking by this and feeling like I needed to remember this day.

I was at work and I started sobbing
My coworkers asked what was wrong and I didn't know what to say exactly since I wasn't out as bi to them yet. I just told my coworkers that I actually liked and they were super supportive and positive and celebrated with me. It was a great day.

I was watching the news after a really looong day at work. As soon as I saw it, I hopped on Facebook to congratulate all my gay friends! I posted something about being excited and happy for them and some dude from my church came all undone all over my post. I had to unfriend and block him because he wouldn't stop posting stupid and hateful things.
