Food-Related Crayola Colors, Ranked

Standard colors only.
  1. 1.
    Plum
Saturated and delicious. Crayola royalty (with respect to actual Royal Purple).
  2. 2.
    Granny Smith Apple
    Refreshing old favorite.
  3. 3.
    Mango Tango
One of those ones where it's not quite the color that the label wants it to be, but a great color all the same.
  4. 4.
    Lemon Yellow
Like a lemon cake on a sunny day. Retired color, but too lovely not to include.
  5. 5.
    Orange
Perfect citrus, classic for a reason.
  6. 6.
    Eggplant
A crayon color that takes you pleasantly by surprise. Earthy and dignified.
  7. 7.
    Jazzberry Jam
I've never seen jam this color, and if I did, I might be afraid to eat it... However it is a fun hue.
  8. 8.
    Olive Green
Fairly underrated as far as greens go. I don't even like green olives, but I like this color a lot.
  9. 9.
    Maize
Also retired, a commendable yellow that reminds me of an old Crayola box itself.
  10. 10.
    Spring Green
The salad of Crayola colors. Pretty good, but I don't generally ~crave~ it.
  11. 11.
    Mulberry
Almost impossible to find a picture for; apparently retired in 2003. Seems that it was replaced by the slightly punchier Jazzberry Jam.
  12. 12.
    Asparagus
Perfectly acceptable green choice for your landscapes and nature studies and drawings of Frankenstein monsters.
  13. 13.
    Cotton Candy
Cute, but just like its real-life counterpart, a little sickly sweet and ultimately not enduring.
  14. 14.
    Pink Sherbet
Points docked for being named "sherbert" instead of "sherbet".
  15. 15.
    Wild Strawberry
Has anyone ever seen a strawberry, wild or otherwise, so pink? But a solid choice anyway.
  16. 16.
    Melon
Just kind of a blah fruit color, but pretty in its own delicate way. Might work okay as paint, but is not a great crayon.
  17. 17.
    Banana Mania
Much better in reality than its swatch would have you believe.
  18. 18.
    Pig Pink
Didn't you know this list wasn't going to be vegetarian? Just be grateful I didn't include Beaver.
  19. 19.
    Macaroni and Cheese
    A rather overrated childhood favorite.
  20. 20.
    Salmon
Can look very cool and vintage or very dated. A color that must be used judiciously.
  21. 21.
    Vivid Tangerine
Not that vivid, to be honest. More like a slightly dowdy grapefruit.
  22. 22.
    Peach
The swatch would have you believe that this is like a "peaches and cream" complexion, but this picture tells a much more orange-y story. Who are you, peach?
  23. 23.
    Apricot
    Peach's more delicate cousin.
  24. 24.
    Almond
Like the inside part of an almond. This is a weird color, right?
