Feel free to disagree with me in the comments though
  1. The West Wing
So I actually hesitated to make this number one but then I realized that even though Sorkin left halfway through, that the best episodes of The West Wing are still better than anything else that's ever been on television. The show has a million Emmys for a reason. And I can't tell you how necessary it was for me to see a woman like CJ Cregg on television during my teenage years.
  2. Sports Night
Two seasons of pure perfection. I could not love this show more and it feels as timely and fresh today as it did 15 years ago. Isaac's speech about the Confederate flag is one of my favorite television scenes ever.
  3. The Newsroom
It has flashes of brilliance. The Pilot and the episode featuring the killing of Osama Bin Laden make up for some of the lackluster plot lines. I mostly just really loved Sloan Sabbith.
  4. Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
I'll admit I had high hopes for this show back in 2006. I mean, I only want good things for Matthew Perry. But it just never got off the ground. If there was only one show from this television season about the inner workings of a sketch comedy to make it to season 2, I'm glad it was 30 Rock. Because let's face it, can you imagine if we had been deprived more seasons of that show?
