TOPICS EVERY MEDIA STUDENT HAS STUDIED IN MORE THAN ONE CLASS

  1. The War of the Worlds radio broadcast
It caused ~pandemonium~ apparently. Ha ha, stupid early 20th century dummies! (Fun fact: it didn't actually create as much of a shit storm as people make it out to have been)
  2. The FJK-Nixon debate
This was the first ever televised presidential debate. Everybody who watched it on TV thought JFK won, while everyone who listened on the radio thought Nixon won. Thought provoking at first, but I have been in at least 5 separate classes in which we've discussed this debate. This contrast loses its wonder after the 2nd class discussion
  3. George Carlin's "7 dirty words"
Literally anytime we've ever talked about the FCC, safe harbor hours, or media censorship in a class we watched this god forsaken bit
  4. Every media acquisition Comcast has ever made
It's a hindrance to free speech and fair representation so we have talked about it in excess
  5. Citizen Kane
