1. James and Lily Potter
Without their deaths the series may not exist, yes, but think about how amazing Harry's life would have been!!!
  2. Sirius Black
Grows up in an abusive home, his best friend dies, everyone believes he killed (at least) three of his friends, his one surviving friend thinks he's a murderer, he is sent to Azkaban, when he's finally free he spends his time on the run and then in hiding at his hated childhood home. Then he dies. Cool.
  3. Albus Dumbledore
Probably the wisest character in the series who Harry put the most faith in throughout. No biggie.
  4. Fred Weasley
  5. Dobby
One of the bravest, most noble characters in the books who also has one of the largest hearts. Albus Severus Potter might need a name change.
  6. Hedwig
Her death is the end of Harry's childhood...and ours.
  7. Remus Lupin
Another man with a suffering existence who had just become a father. Treated like a werewolf, lived like a gentleman and died a hero.
  8. Colin Creevey
So innocent and pure who expected nothing but good from other people, I wish there were more Colin's in this world.
  9. Cedric Diggory
His death was proof of Voldemort's nonchalance towards death and was also the trigger for Harry's PTSD. The death of an innocent is always devastating.
  10. Nymphadora Tonks
An inspiring woman who sought out what she wanted and got it. Also a new mother, leaving Teddy Lupin an orphan. Always good for a laugh and a look of understanding, her loss was surprisingly rough to handle.
  11. Severus Snape
He was a bit of a git and probably shouldn't have been allowed to teach young minds with his tendencies for abusive behavior, but was extremely talented and loyal. If only he had learned not to be so selfish and prejudiced before Lily's life was threatened.
  12. Alastor Moody
A man with an uncountable amount of oddities that deserved all of the respect and fear he garnered from those surrounding him. There is no doubt he lived a thrilling life, though it's too bad he died as early in the fight as he did.
  13. Lavender Brown
Bitten by a savage werewolf and too young to go, she had been a handful as a young girl but didn't get the chance to experience life.
