After hearing GOP presidential candidates denounce big government and regulations, I’d like to invite them to spend the night in the midst of the civil war in South Sudan. Here are things you don’t have in South Sudan that make government and regulations seem pretty appealing. (Read my column for more details:
  1. No long lines at the D.M.V., because there is no D.M.V. in the conflict areas.

  2. No need to build a wall. There’s no immigration problem.
  3. No taxes or gun restrictions in practice. You may hear gunfire competing with yowls of hyenas.
  4. No Obamacare. But there is one of the highest rates of maternal mortality in the world.
