TOO GOOD TO BE FORGOTTEN RESTAURANTS

I found out today that one of my very favorite restaurants in the world has closed. Add yours here and we'll be hungry and sad together.
  1. Dave's Italian Kitchen, Evanston, IL
My parents introduced me to this place as a kid and I took three boyfriends there on dates (old location). We had many awesome dinners with my sister in law's family in more recent years and both of my kids had eaten there. Dave's had tasty and reasonably priced Italian American food and you could write on the labels of the wine bottles that lined the booths. I'll be eating their ravioli in my dreams tonight. Thanks for the memories, Dave's 😞
  2. Jackson's Restaurant, Perth.
I went once for my 18th (breadsticks, duck confit, soufflé) and kept promising myself I'd visit again. 😩It has its own wiki entry (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jackson%27s_(restaurant)) and it made my definitive food list Definitive Food Moments

  3. D. Timm's, Augusta, GA
Gnocchi Carbonara that was the stuff of dreams, and a kick-ass Key Lime Pie Martini. RIP

  4. Hot Doug's - Chicago
There are no two finer words in the English Language than "encased meats," my friend.

  7. Adam Express, Mt Pleasant DC
Not the gross kind of take out, the really really really good kind. Their closing made a big hole in out take away options.
