Books I've Read That Were Huge Disappointments

Considering that so far this year I've read 61 new books these aren't that many disappointments.
  1. Up In The Air by Walter Kirn
This one of my favorite movies and probably the worst book I've read this year. The George Clooney character is entirely unlikable and the writing style just wasn't for me.
  2. The Magicians by Lev Grossman
This just didn't live up to all the hype. I've seen it on countless lists of books to read and even heard it described as Harry Potter but with college kids. That it was not.
  3. The Clasp by Sloane Crosley
I read so many good things about this book so I read it right when it came out. The characters were flat and unfunny. I just didn't care what happened to them. I'm honestly surprised I even finished this one.
  4. The Good Girl by Mary Kubica
This wasn't entirely bad just didn't live up to the hype. It spent roughly 300 pages telling you nothing then the last 5 gave you the entire mystery, which I predicted less than 100 pages in.
