"You can't see what you can't be" Storytelling can beautifully open a heart or a mind. I grew up with two moms in a homophobic place, and pieces like this always made me feel less alone. It's amazing that humans can casually utter "fag" one year and passionately scream "Love Wins" the next. Here are some pieces that I think helped make that change
  1. Will and Grace
  2. Queer As Folk
  3. The L Word
  4. Ellen's stand-up specials
  5. Ellen
  6. Six Feet Under
  7. Modern Family
  8. Boys Don't Cry
  9. But I'm a Cheerleader
  10. Angels in America
  11. Buffy
  12. Orange is the New Black
  13. Looking
  14. Glee
  15. Brokeback Mountain
  16. Milk
  17. The Kids Are All Right
  18. A Single Man
  19. The Birdcage
  20. Philadelphia
  21. My Best Friend's Wedding
  22. Rent
  23. The Rocky Horror Picture Show
  24. Beginners
  25. Saved!
  26. The Laramie Project
  27. Fried Green Tomatoes
  28. Transparent

  29. Flirting with Disaster
Lesser-seen David O. Russell film from the mid-90s, which just happens to be my favorite movie. To explain further why it fits in this list would require several spoilers!
