I Never Thought I'd Be Glad To See Someone Put in Prison

  1. But here I am.
  2. Those who have followed me for a while may remember a list I posted last November about a brutal attack where I knew everyone involved.
I deleted the list when I was public because I was afraid it might get found by lawyers or the media to negative effect.
  3. I worked at Bean Kinney during the time of the attack. I had known Alecia about 9 months and had met her husband twice.
  4. The attack was a shock to everyone.
Apparently Alecia had been acting unstable but those who knew her best at the firm were worried perhaps she would self harm. Not this.
  5. Andrew's trial was back in June.
I was no longer at Bean Kinney so I can't really speak to what that was like for everyone. But I heard the testimony was very hard for Leo and his wife.
  6. He was sentenced in August.
2 life terms plus 98 years.
  7. I cheered when I heard the news.
  8. And breathed a sigh of relief.
  9. On Monday, Alecia pled guilty to all charges.
    She will get 10-45 years.
  10. She won't be sentenced until January, but she will go to prison for a long time.
  11. And Leo and his wife won't have to testify again.
  12. Overall it feels like closure to me personally and I hope it does to the others involved and who felt connected to it.
  13. I never thought I'd feel glad when someone was sentenced to life in prison.
  14. But here I am.
