Our day in Kanazawa (Thursday).
  1. We got a one day bus pass and took the bus to Kenrokuen, which is considered one of the top three gardens in Japan.

  2. It's very large and very beautiful!

  4. Some of the leaves are starting to change.

  5. This tree is large and held up by tons of poles.

  6. The stones you see are called the flying wild geese bridge.
    Static
  7. We strolled around, took lots of pictures, and caught some Pokémon.

  9. Here's my husband multitasking... Taking a picture while catching a Slowpoke on his phone 😂

  13. We loved it! So beautiful and peaceful.

  14. We walked over to a lunch spot and I saw a Kinko's which still exist here I guess.

  15. We got set lunches at a French restaurant. This is cold corn soup (for this meal they gave us the normal utensils we're used to).

  16. I got a slice of quiche and it came with a huge salad!
    Static
The place had an excellent bakery section as well.
  17. I liked this art we passed, "howling stones."

  18. We next took a bus to the Higashi Chaya district because we had read about this place that invented ice cream that doesn't melt.
    Static
From the articles I've seen they extracted polyphenols from strawberries which stabilizes the ice cream.
  19. We got some. Indeed it stayed perfect for a while, plenty of time for your Instagram pictures!

Gold leaf is a thing in Kanazawa. Lots of places sell soft serve covered in gold leaf.
  20. The Higashi Chaya district is an old part of town with lots of shops.

  22. I got a necklace which I don't have a picture of yet.
    Static
My intention is to make a list of all the crap we bought after we get home, mostly because everything gets nicely and excessively packaged and I don't want to unwrap it yet.
  23. I love seeing a bunch of people out in kimonos! They wear wooden sandals usually which make a very pleasing sound as well.

  24. We saw a line at this croquette place. Lines are a good sign so we couldn't resist.

  25. We got the potato one which had unexpected chicken. But otherwise good.

  26. We then took the bus to the Castle Park to walk around while it was still open.

  28. We haven't mastered the kidding selfie obviously. 😂

  29. I like this picture except my eyes are closed.

I wore my Rothys all day and had no rubbing and no more foot soreness than usual (worth noting that they don't really have arch support).

  38. After the park closed we checked out some tents we saw but they were setting up for a jazz festival the next day. I went to a Tokyu Hands store we saw and bought a bunch of stationery and other stuff.

  39. Then we went to Sushi Ippei for dinner.

  40. Tasty!

I got salmon, two kinds of tuna, and flounder plus a cucumber roll. That was all for the day!
