MAUI RECOMMENDATIONS🌺

for @lucas (added some photos from my april trip!)
  1. Luau: Old Lahaina
the food is probably the best of the luaus i've been to--nothing out of this world, but good. what makes this luau the best is the authenticity--super beautiful to watch!
  2. Breakfast: Kihei Caffe
literally everything is great here. coconut macadamia pancakes/waffles, a super delicious bircher muesli, huge fluffy omelets. you can't go wrong.
  3. Sushi: Sansei
advice: get there early. it gets CRAZY busy.
  4. Poke: Foodland (Kihei)
seems odd that it's grocery store poke, but it really is the best!
  5. Parasail: UFO Parasailing (Kannapali)
i haven't done this since i was a kid, but remember this was fun! takes you up the highest of all the parasail companies. you can request to be dipped in the ocean during your sail (i politely declined)!
  6. Boat Trips: Trilogy (leave from Lahaina)
amazing food! cinnamon rolls! lots of different options--you can do a shorter sunset sail or do a day trip to molokini. super fun staff!
  7. Zipline: Skyline Eco Adventures
SO FUN. they kind of work up to the bigger/scarier ziplines, so it doesn't feel as overwhelming. there are a few different locations for this--we did the one close to haleakala, which i think is prettier scenery. rainforest!
  8. Shave Ice: Ulalani's (Kihei)
every flavor is delicious. the small is plenty--the bigger ones are HUGE. like the size of your head.
  9. Ice Cream: Lappert's (Wailea)
when you walk into the shops at wailea, the smell of homemade waffle cones will hit you immediately! all of their ice cream flavors are fantastic--but coconut/pineapple is my personal favorite.
  10. Lunch Spot: Cafe O Lei (Kihei)
    macadami- crusted chicken. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
  11. Hawaiian Food: Da Kitchen (Kihei)
big portions of authentic food--you could probably split one plate and still be plenty full. teriyaki chicken is 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
  12. Dessert: Leoda's
sheldon simeon from top chef helped develop their menu, if that gives you any hints about how delicious everything is. SO MUCH PIE, OMG.
  13. Fish Tacos: Coconuts
fish is fresh, reasonable prices, owned by a sweet family. great vibe.
  14. Happy Hour: Monkeypod
the food is maybe even too healthy for my tastes but the drinks and pie are the real winners, here. (get a mai tai! LILIKOI FOAM.)
  15. Best Dinner View: Lahaina Pizza Co
get here before sunset and request to be seated with an ocean view.
  16. Fancy Dinner: Mama's Fish House
priciest meal you'll likely have on maui, but well worth it.
  17. Coolest Town: Paia
hippies! i'm obsessed with this quirky little town. tons of cute shops to browse and lots of great restaurants. paia fish market is my fave.
  18. New Fave: Wow Wow Lemonade
oh my gosh, SO GOOD. fresh lemonades and acai bowls. buy a mason jar to bring home!
  19. Guilty Pleasure: Cinnamon Roll Place
ask for extra "goo." trust me.
