Books I Read in May

  1. 84, Charing Cross Road
Ugh so good! How did I not know this was non-fiction until I finished? Immediately purchased so I can reread it over and over. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  2. The Wednesday Letters
Meh. I loved the letter format, but the story was flimsy and annoying. Still compelling enough to keep me going but I wouldn't revisit. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
  3. Messenger of Truth
The fourth in the Maisie Dobbs series. I really liked it in the end, but I kind of forced my way through. I may take a break from Maisie and switch to Phryne Fisher - I need some romantic intrigue. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  4. The Clothes They Stood Up In
A fun short story. Unexpected ending. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
  5. The Summer Before the War
Delightful, but long. I loved many of the characters and the unique perspectives it brought to WWI. I think I'm not a super perceptive reader because I didn't know it was WWI (instead of II) until the very end. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
