Thanks @madithelma this was fun! YouTube links to each scene included 😜
  1. Lost In Translation
Just Like Honey - The Jesus and Mary Chain. This song is the reason I cry every time I watch the closing scene of this movie.
  2. Somewhere
Love Like a Sunset Part I - Phoenix. You just have to watch the scene to get it. It's worth the 2 min and 45 sec clip.
  3. There Will Be Blood
Convergence - Jonny Greenwood. The scene where the oil well explodes causing HW to go deaf. The music perfectly matches the intensity and franticness of the scene. Starts about 1min 50 secs in
  4. Garden State
In The Waiting Line - Zero 7. Perfect song for the slow motion mansion party scene. Also just one of my favorite songs in general.
  5. Drive
Night Call - Kavinsky & Lovefoxxx. C'mon we all kinda lost it for this song. Its so tite, great opening credits song.
  6. Kill Bill Vol 1
Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood - Santa Esmeralda That final fight scene between Uma Thurman and Lucy Liu with this song playing... Shut it down. So good.
  7. Boogie Nights
Spill The Wine - War. The song plays at the beginning of the pool party scene and perfectly embodied a 1970s LA summer pool party
  8. Grease
Grease - Frankie Valli. One of my all time favorite opening credits sequences
  9. Donnie Darko
Head Over Heels - Tears For Fears. Cool silent scene (except for the music, duh) that pans through the high school and is paced to match the song. Loooved it
  10. Royal Tenenbaums
Needle In The Hay - Elliot Smith. Music that accompanies a scene where luke Wilson attempts suicide
  11. The Breakfast Club
Don't You (Forget About Me) - Simple Minds. Classic
  12. Rushmore
Ooh La La - Faces. Slow motion closing dance scene with this song <3
  13. Dazed and Confused
Sweet Emotion - Aerosmith. Opening credits music and feels so 1970s cool 😎
  14. Lion King
Circle of Life - Elton John. Killer opening. And I'm not just saying that cuz I wanted to be Simba when I was little.
  15. Full Metal Jacket
These Boots Were Made For Walking - Nancy Sinatra. The juxtaposition between the training camp and Vietnam is bridged with this song and boy is it rollin in meaning. The army boots and the prostitute's boots. The lyrics "you've been a messin, where you shoulda been a messin" definitely applies to US involvement in Vietnam.
  16. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Oh Yeah - Yello. The scene where ferris convinces Cameron to take out his dad's car and again in the closing scene of the movie.
  17. Do The Right Thing
Fight The Power - Public Enemy. Radio Raheem walks into the pizza shop blasting this song on his boom box. This leads to the film's climatic scene a fight breaks out between the neighborhood kids and the pizza shop owner
  18. The Graduate
The Sound of Silence - Simon & Garfunkel. Ending scene on the bus. Song is perfect in so many ways.
  19. Pulp Fiction
You Can Never Tell - Chuck Berry. Jack Rabbit Slims twist competition scene. Infamous
